Biography
Born in Oregon, I have been busy sketching and creating art since I was a little girl. Mostly self taught, I learned the most from art books I found in the library and from the artists on OPB. More recently, I have taken art classes from Mt. Hood Community College and have an associates in art. I really enjoyed these classes which included calligraphy, drawing, watercolor, acrylic painting, pottery, and photography. It's interesting how you eventually are able to use everything you've learned in various ways.
In my artwork I try to convey a sense of hope in its various forms. I use rich watercolors to portray the world around me. My favorite subjects are people and wild animals and my favorite medium is watercolor.
I've been interviewed in '06, '08 and '11 for the Gresham Outlook and the Portland Tribune.
I have previously shown work at the Gresham City Hall in two separate exhibits in 2005: "Drawing a Blank" and "Art About Childhood". I've painted a two piece mural for Gateway Baptist on San Rafael in the church's youth group room. For the last twelve years Mom and I have done shows in various venues in Oregon and Washington.
I have been commissioned to paint homes, pets, and vintage cars, and am thrilled to see my career begin to take off. I want to continue trying new venues in the art world and hope that, in the future, I can pursue my lifelong dream of being a portrait artist and illustrator for children's books.
